Ms. Pamela Sellers Smith, age 63, of Scottsboro, passed away Friday, July 12, 2019. Pamela was born in Jackson, Tennessee on April 4, 1956. Pamela obtained her bachelor’s and master’s in education. She taught school in Mississippi before coming to Alabama. She taught school for Jackson County School System as a special education teacher for grades K-12. She enjoyed teaching school and loved all her students as her own. After retirement, she continued teaching as a tutor. She loved butterflies, roses, and her favorite color was yellow. She was a great Mama and will be truly missed.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from Scottsboro Funeral Home with Dr. Daniel Armettreat officiating. Interment will follow at Burgess Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ms. Smith is survived by her children, Jonathan David Knotts, Sr. (Kellie) of Fayetteville, TN, Sarah Elizabeth Hardin (Franklin) of Woodville, AL, and Kevin Michael Knotts of Meridianville, AL; grandchildren, David Michael Thompson of Meridianville, AL, Jonathan David Knotts II of Fayetteville, TN, and Joshua Ryan Thompson of Woodville, AL; great grandchildren, Aubree Mae Thompson, Raegan Kate Thompson, Braedyn Michael Thompson all of Grant, AL; sisters, Fredda Christian (Gerald) of Savannah, TN, Treva Jo Beck (Larry), and Danielle Sellers of Key West, FL; brother, Frederick Brooks Sellers of Key West, FL; countless family, friends, and students.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Joan Austin and father, Frederick Brooks Sellers.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from Scottsboro Funeral Home with Dr. Daniel Armettreat officiating. Interment will follow at Burgess Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
