Ozro Lawrence, aged 88, of Athens, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, February 15th, 2026. Born on June 2nd, 1937, in Giles County, Tennessee, Ozro was the son of Earnest and Lillie Mae Gatlin Lawrence.
Ozro is survived by his devoted wife, Louis Ann Lawrence, and their children, Amanda Miller and her husband Dennis, as well as Teresa McKinney and her husband Jeff. His legacy continues through his treasured grandchildren: Miranda Ridgeway, Coner McKinney and his wife Ramsey, and Dalton McKinney. Ozro also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Douglas Lawrence, and his brothers and sisters.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation for Mr. Lawrence on Wednesday, February 18th, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, officiated by Daniel Tucker and Richard Durham. Mr. Lawrence will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery, with Mike Coberly, Tommy Graves, Darin Russell, Greg Moss, Dalton McKinney, and Coner McKinney as pallbearers, and Doyle Graves, Doug Patterson, Joe Gatlin as honorary pallbearers.
Ozro Lawrence was a man who found great joy and fulfillment in gardening and working in his yard. His dedication to hard work was evident in the bountiful harvest he so enjoyed. Ozro’s love for the outdoors and his unwavering work ethic will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be dearly missed by friends, family, and all who knew and loved him.
