Ovid Elvis Conder – Obituary

Ovid Elvis Conder age 85 passed away October 11, 2012 at the Tennessee State Veterans Home at Humboldt, TN.

He was born and reared in the Cabo Community of Chester County the son of the late Robert Taylor and Katie Goodwin Conder. He attended Chester County Schools and entered the U.S. Army in 1945 through 1947.

He married Coylene Mangrum in 1955 and they lived in IL for twenty years where he worked at Caterpillar and returned to Cabo and he operated Conder’s Used Cars on Hwy. 45 South. He later worked as a pipe threaded at Grinnell where he retired in 1992. He enjoyed visiting Flea Markets and worked in furniture and lawn mower repairs.
Mrs. Conder preceded in death. He made his home at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt in January 2012.

He is survived by two sons, Jimmy White of Perryville, TN and Robert Conder of Henderson; two daughters, Kathy Withers of Henderson and Nancy McCaskill and husband Norris of Beech Bluff; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren; one sister, Maxine Ahrens of Lemont, IL.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Coylene Mangrum Conder in 2005; two sisters, Lucille White and Bernice Lott and three brothers, Cecil, Dale and Neal Conder.
