Otis “Eugene” Stone, Sr., 81 years of age, passed away peacefully September 30 , 2024 at his home in Big Cove, AL surrounded by his family and close friends.
Eugene was born February 16, 1943 to Brother Paul and Sister Estelle Stone. Eugene was married to the love of his life Linda G. Stone on January 17, 1964. In their 60 years of marriage they shared their love with a loving daughter, Sylenda Schrimsher (Husband Arnold), Two amazing sons, Otis Eugene Stone Jr. (Husband Randy Hendon) and Marion Dale Stone (Wife Lynette). A proud Grandy to two wonderful grandsons, T.J. Schrimsher (wife Crystal) and Jeremy Stone (wife Nicole). And a great grandfather to two precious little girls, Sullivan Belle Schrimsher and Charlotte Elaine Schrimsher. “Nene”, as he was referred to by his parents and siblings, is survived by his brothers, Nelson, Carroll (wife Deveda), Dwight (wife Linda), Eddie, Ricky (wife Beth), Avery (wife Rebecca) and sister, Martha Tackett (husband Frank), Special sister in law, Connie Kane and extra daughter, Tret West.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bro. Paul Stone and Sis. Estelle Stone. Brother Billy Ray Stone, Sisters Barbara “Sis” Fortner, Deveda Cain, sister in law Glenice Stone, Brother in law’s Don Fortner and Jackie Cain.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 4th, from 4:00-7:00PM at Berryhill Funeral Home, with a service immediately following. A second visitation will be held the following day, Saturday, October 5th, from 1:00-3:00PM, with a 3:00PM service at the Cave Springs Holiness Church. Burial will take place following the Saturday service at Green Valley Cemetery.
The services will be officiated by Mr. Stones grandsons, T.J. Schrimsher and Jeremy Stone; in addition to Bro. Ollie Cooper, Bro. Dustin Atchley, and Bro. Jimmy Stapler.
Pall Bearers will be Jeremy Paul Stone, T.J. Schrimsher, Arnold Schrimsher, Randy Hendon, Jimmy Stapler and Scott Maples. Escorting the pallbearers will be his brothers, Nelson Stone, Dwight Stone, Eddie Stone and Carroll Stone.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Cave Springs Holiness Church for the Eugene Stone Memorial Fund.
