Funeral services for Mr. Oscar Wayne Bond, Jr, 87, of Lineville will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Springhill Christian Church with Bro. Dan Keith, Bro. Billy Todd and Bro. Stanley Yarbrough officiating. Burial will follow in the Lineville City Cemetery.

Wayne was born in Alexander City, Alabama and settled here in Lineville. He worked construction doing concrete for dams and other large projects. He was an active member of Springhill Christian Church for over 30 years. Wayne was a loving husband and father and will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elaine Bond; 2 daughters, Barbara Engle and husband Terry and Pam Wiley; grandchildren, Pamela Chavez(Miguel), Brad Keef(Lauren), Hali Averette(Justin) and Tiffany Battle(LaShamian); great-grandchildren, Emma Keef, Dante and Jacob Norris, Elaina Chavez, Cam and Carter Battle, Cory and Tasha Green; several nieces, nephews and a large extended family and a wonderful church family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Melissa Bond; two sisters, Sara Will and Ella Ree.

Pallbearers will be Paul Fetner, Keith Fetner, Terry Engle, Miguel Chavez, Bradley Keef and LaShamian Battle. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Carlton DeVaughn, Cam Battle, Carter Battle, Dante Norris, Jacob Norris, Shan Bloodsworth and Ian Bloodsworth.

The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 5:30 until 7:00 P.M. before the service. Mr. Bond will lie in state from 10 until 11 Monday at Spring Hill Christian Church.
