Oscar Hosey Burrow – Obituary

Oscar Hosey Burrow, Florence, was born April 10, 1927 to Joseph and Hettie (Taylor) Burrow and was raised on a family farm near Spruce Pine, Alabama. He peacefully passed away from this life into the arms of our Lord and savior surrounded by family on April 22, 2016.

Mr. Burrow was a longtime resident of Littleville, Alabama. He was a retired labor foreman for TVA Browns Ferry and served in the Army during the Korean War where he earned a service medal with two bronze stars. He was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Russellville for 65 years.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 25, 2016 at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville. There will be an open visitation from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. Service will follow in the chapel with Rev. Chad Beck and Thomas Loyd officiating. Burial will follow at Franklin Memory Gardens.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Hattie Burrow; brothers, Blakley, John, Harry, William, Howard; twin brother, Arthur, Phillip (Buddle); sister, Helen McQuire.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Barbara E. (Cummings) Burrow; daughters, Linda Hall (Larry), Kathy Greenhill (Ducky); grandchildren, Jason Hall (Jennifer), Justin Hall (Kit), Tracy McCalpin (Jennifer) Chad McCalpin (Kelly).

Great-grandchildren, Wes Hall, Conner Hall, Alex Hall, Carley Grace McCalpin, Carson McCalpin, Collin McCalpin, Caitlyn Pace, Logan McCalpin, Landen McCalpin.

Mr. Burrow shared the Bible with everyone he met, he was an avid Alabama football fan, he deeply loved his family with all his heart and soul and in his leisure time he enjoyed watching old western films.

Pall bearers include; Tracy McCalpin, Chad McCalpin, Jason Hall, Justin Hall, Logan McCalpin, and David Hall.

In lieu of flowers; donations can be made to First Freewill Baptist Church, Building Fund.

Pinkard Funeral Home will be directing.
