Oscar Curtis Birdwell Jr., 88, died Tuesday at his residence. Mr. Birdwell was born Feb. 11, 1929, in Lauderdale County. He was a member of Confluence Church of Christ and a retired gospel preacher. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Stringer and Ronald Stringer officiating. Burial is in Limestone Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Saturday from noon until service at Spry Funeral Home.
Surviviors include his wife, Frances Birdwell, of Rogersville; daughters, Nanette Stringer, of Rogersville, and Lisa Crim, of Tampa, Florida; son, Alan Birdwell, of Rogersville; grandchildren, Ronald Stringer, Cynthia Brewer, Evan Crim, Nolan Crim, Alissa Crim, Emily Birdwell, and Gary Birdwell; four great-grandchildren; brother, Phares Birdwell, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Gary Curtis Birdwell.
