Orville Edward Garner Sr, age 79 of Sherwood, TN, passed away on November 2, 2022 at his residence. Orville was born on October 30, 1943, in Sewanee, TN to the late Orvel Lee and Ethel Lucille Garner. He is a 1960 class graduate of Franklin County High School. He worked in the automotive industry for several years. Orville loved watching the trains pass by his home in Sherwood, sitting on his front porch waving at people who passed by and taking care of his eleven barn cats. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, George William Garner; sister, Linda Hoosier; and grandson, Austin Garner. Orville is survived by his sons, Tim (Sue) Garner of Sewanee, TN and Orville Edward Garner Jr. of Huntsville, AL; step-daughter, Alice (Shawn) Hughey of Gurley, AL; grandchildren, Zackrey Garner, Mitchell Garner, Cheyenne Haynes; great-granddaughter, Copeland Haynes; sisters, Mary Lee Prince of Sherwood, TN, Annie Mae Hughes of Jasper, TN; Betty (Dan) Summers of Tucker, GA and Martha (David) Johnson of Winchester; special niece and nephew, Rick and Lisa Hoosier; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
