Orvil “Doug” Lee McClure, age 70, of Hartselle, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at St. Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro. He was born on March 23, 1948 in Scottsboro, Alabama. Doug served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War before owning and operating a convenience market. He was a member of the Baileyton Masonic Lodge. Doug was preceded in death by his father, Gordon “Goose” Thomas McClure; and sister, Alice McClure.
He is survived by his mother, Autrey George McClure of Winchester; brother, Jerry (Belinda) McClure of Hartselle, Alabama; sister, Nancy Scott, of Knoxville; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Reverend David Baker officiating. Interment will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery in Francisco, Alabama with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
