Orlan “Larry” Cox, 72, of Florence, passed away June 8, 2016. He was retired from the City of Florence Electrical Department, and was a United States Air Force veteran. Larry loved life, his family, and loved to make people laugh; he will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be today, June 10, 2016 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Tom Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Ronnie O’Kelley, Bob Marlin and Tracy Wells will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Lee and Olivia Cox; and sister, Diane Cox.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Burchell Cox; son, Barry L. Cox (Denida); daughters, Beverly Stone (Douglas), Lynn Wells (Tracy) and Shequanda Jenkins; grandchildren, Adam and Austin Stone, Kaley, Kaleb, and Kameron Cox, Kyle McGee, Kevin and Quinton Keel; great-grandchildren, Hayden and Stormy Keel, Julie and Malachi McGee, and Jace Keel.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Alacare Hospice, especially Donna, Tracy and Julie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.
