Ora Belle Summar Queen departed this life on Monday, January 2, 2026 at Lauderdale Community Hospital in Ripley, Tennessee. She was born in the Mary’s Chapel Community on January 9, 1937 to the late Elisha Belle Summar and Ora Louise Criner Summar. Visitation for Mrs. Queen will be Thursday, February 5 at Garner Funeral Home from 12:00 – 2:00. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 with Pastor Donna Parramore officiating. Interment will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Durhamville.
Ora Belle was a virtuous woman, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, a faithful family member, devoted friend, and an animal lover. She graduated from Ripley High School and went to work at Farmers Union Bank as the head teller. She was very active in the Durhamville Variety Club, of which she served as treasurer. She also was the secretary/ bookkeeper of Queen Farms.
Ora Belle’s love for others motivated and brought her a generous amount of joy. She was blessed with a great appreciation for the beauty of life. She loved her family deeply. A woman of few words, her life represented a huge heart and humble spirit. Her love for others is what motivated her to keep going daily. She made time for everyone she encountered and always asked how you were doing.
Preceding her in death are her loving parents, “Chug” and Ora Summar, her husband of 52 years, Thomas Queen, and her brothers Coy and Roy Summar.
Ora Belle is survived by her 2 beloved sons, David Queen(Teresa) and Glenn Queen(Shane Rogers), grandchildren Adam Queen( Renee Embry), Emily Queen, Emmie Henderson, Paige Biglane(Barr), Dan Henderson(Ashlee) and great-grandsons Neyland Queen, Ward and Ben Biglane and Ridge Henderson.
In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the St. Paul Cemetery Fund , C/O Zane Fisher, 6619 Henning Orysa Rd, Ripley, TN. 38063.
