Opal Geneva Gillis Brown, 83 of Florence, Al passed away Monday, March 17, 2014. She was a member of Community Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Malcom Scott and Marvin Morrow officiating. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Park.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleven (Tud) Brown; parents, Joe Dave and Lula Belle Gillis; sister, Faye “Coodlum” Willard.
Survivors include sons, Larry Raymond Powell (Elsie) of West Virginia, Tim Brown and Randy Brown; daughters, Linda Hill, Janie Johnson, Angie Puller (Eddy), and Kaye Tillery (Doug); brother, Delton “Dobie” Gillis (Pat); sister Josie Porcari (Steve); grandchildren, Jimmy Powell, Blair Powell, Christina Tate, Jennifer Hooper, Douglas Johnson, Chris Johnson, Alan Puller, Jason Puller, A.J. Snell, Matt Snell, Ryan Brown and Dylan Brown; great-grandchildren, Wesley May, Cooper Puller, Chloe Puller, Abram Hooper and Briana Powell and one great-great-grandchild. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
