Opal Christine Bates, 86, Phil Campbell, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at her residence.
The visitation will be 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Bethel Church in Bear Creek, AL. The funeral will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the church. Officiating will be Bro. Jerome Sherrill. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James E. Bates; son, Jimmy Hopson; parents, Marion & Myrtle Bradley; sisters, Lucille Nix, Retha Mae West.
She is survived by her grand-daughter, Kayla Handvack; great-grandchildren, Shelcio Handvack, Bentley Handvack; brother, Johnny Bradley; sister, Francis Huckaba; and several nieces & nephews.
