Opal B. Lewis – Obituary

Opal Mrs.Opa B. Lewis , 79 of Florence died peacefully at her home on November 21, 2013 after an extended illness. She was a native of Wayne County, TN and a member of Pine Hill Church of Christ.

   Visitation will be today, November 23, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday, November 24, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Cloverdale Church of Christ with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Officiating will be David Rushlow of Pine Hill Church of Christ. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time.
   Mrs. Lewis is preceded in death by her parents, Ellie and Clara Williams and a sister, Vival Dodd.
   She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Brady E. Lewis, daughters, Shayla Alexander and husband Patrick, LaNita Riant and husband Mike,  grandchildren, Justin May and wife Kelly, Andrew, Ryan and Morgan Alexander, and Conner and Jacob Riant, sisters,  Delphia Montgomery(Gene) Hazel Haddock, Bassell Miles and numerous nieces and nephews.
   Opal loved to cook, sew, and work in her flowers and garden. She was known in the community for her wonderful desserts and freshly grown vegetables that she enjoyed sharing with her friends and neighbors. She also loved to smock aprons to give as gifts for her daughters school teachers.
   Pallbearers will be Steve Orrick, Albert Haddock, Barry Montgomery, David Montgomery, Patrick Alexander, and Justin May.
   The family wants to especially thank Christina Perry for the special care she gave to Opal during her illness as well as Hospice of the Tennessee Valley, nurses and staff.
