Onzie Beaver, 79, of Florence, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013. Visitation will be Saturday, March 9, 6:00-9:00 P.M. at Spry~Williams Funeral Home, Florence. The funeral service will be Sunday, March 10, 2:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Ramond Beaver and Brother Billy Cotton officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Lawrence County, Alabama. He was an Honorary Deputy Sheriff for Lauderdale County and was one of the founding members of the Florence/Lauderdale County Rescue Squad. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Willie Beaver; daughter, Melody Hardin; nephew, John Ray Beaver; niece, Maggie Fay Hester, and ten brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife, Faye Franklin Beaver; Daughter, Pamela (Rickey) Beasley; Son, Michael (Beth) Beaver; Brother, Autry Beaver,; Sisters: Doris (Archie) Romans, Martha Sue Forest; Grandchildren, Brandi Beasley, Zack Beasley, Jessica Beaver, Jason Beaver, Jennifer Hardin, Leah Smith, and Matt Hardin, and four great-grandchildren.
