onealFuneral service for O’Neal Terry, age 77, of Hillsboro, will be Sunday, March 17, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Salter officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 17, 2013, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Terry Cemetery in Lawrence County.

Mr. Terry, who died Friday, March 15 , 2013, at Lawrence Medical Center, was born September 2, 1935 in Colbert County, to Edward Sykes Terry and Nona Owen Terry Brown. He retired from Sears Roebuck as a customer Service manager. Past owner of Salvage Sales, former deputy and Drug Investigator for Lawrence and Morgan County Sheriff’s Departments, served in the National Guard. Retired from Morgan County Department of Revenue, Member of Shriner’s International and Member of the Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Russell Neal Terry, his granddaughter Jessica Terry Evans and his brothers, Edward Terry and Wesley Terry.

He is survived by his wife Fran Terry of Hillsboro; his daughters, Jan Terry Hamilton (Mike) of Trinity, Peggy Terry Carden (Danny) of Hartselle, Lisa Terry Cagle (Mike) of Decatur; step-daughter, Teri Watson (Anthony) of Hartselle; step-sons, Billy Kennedy (Rhonda) of Falkville and Jeff Kennedy (Michelle) of Joppa, sisters, Vera Hardin of Decatur and Grace Westlake of Athens and her children Pat Dobbs (Tom) and Charles Blackwood all of Hartselle; Grandchildren Susan Hamilton Mitchell (Jon) of Millbrook, Michael Hamilton, Jr. (Courtney) of Trussville, Nick Terry (Kayla) of Lafayette, GA, Danielle Carden of Hartselle, Craig Carden (Rosie) of St. Petersburg, FL, Frankie Millious (Kourtney) of Hartselle, Tre Kennedy of Falkville, Aleena Kennedy, Tommie Kennedy and Savanah Mashburn all of Joppa; great-grandchildren, Harrison Michael Mitchell, McKinley Terry, Samuel Carden, Grace Millious.

Pallbearers will be Nick Terry, Mike Hamilton, Michael Hamilton, Jarvis Terry, Billy Kennedy, Jeff Kennedy, Anthony Watson, Tre Kennedy, Troy Puckett and Danny Carden.
