MORGAN COUNTY-Morgan County Sheriff’s Patrol made a routine traffic stop.  Here is how the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office describe events leading up to one person arrested for Unlawful Possession of Prescription Drugs:

“Morgan County Sheriff’s Patrol made a routine traffic stop that ended a passenger being charged with possession of methamphetamine.

Deputy Sheriff Chad Sain observed a vehicle commit multiple traffic violations during the late evening hours of Saturday, November 29th, and initiated a traffic stop at U.S.. Highway 231 and N.E. Fields Road in Lacey’sSpring. During this stop, the deputy had cause to speak with the passenger of the vehicle, Jessica Schoonmaker, 36, of Keener Drive in Lacey’s Spring. During his interactions with the passenger, he observed behavior which led him to believe she was possibly under the influence of controlled substances, and continued questioning her.

Ms. Schoonmaker then produced a quantity of what was determined to be methamphetamine and prescription medication that’s was not prescribed to her from her person and gave it to the deputy.

There were two juveniles who were released to a responsible party. The driver was cited and released.

Ms. Schoonmaker was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of prescription medication without a prescription. She is currently in the Morgan County Jail in lieu of $1,800 bond.”
