He creates stunning works of art by a noble melding of gemstones and precious metals. And the process starts with only an idea.

“Someone will come into the store wanting a ring, maybe an engagement ring, maybe a ring that makes a statement”, Hammock explained. “Lots of times they have just left another big name jewelry store. They’re disappointed. Most of the time they tell me that all they found was mediocre pieces and a salesman who was more intent on selling them a line of credit than the jewelry itself. It happens all the time.”
Creative Jewelers was opened by Hammock in 1987. In the ensuing years, Creative has lived up to its name. “First thing I do is sit down with my Customer to find out what is important to them… What it is they expect from the ring, or bracelet, whatever other piece they desire. We will use a ring as our example, most of our work is in rings. It all starts with a stone,” he pointed out. “We show them all the gems to choose from.”
Hammock is in the top 3-percent of the most highly educated jewelers in the world. He is a nationally certified Jeweler and is an expert in metallurgy. He has won numerous awards for design, the evidence for which is displayed on the walls of his beautiful showroom. In fact, in 2010, Hammock was named one of the world’s leading jewelry innovators from the largest jewelry manufacturer, Stuller Settings International.

He continued, “We take the stone and put its geometry into our computer workstation where the design process begins. The possibilities are unlimited and the Customer can see the finished piece on the screen in a relatively short time. Computer technology has transformed our industry.” Hammock is clearly passionate about his work.

He summed up what a custom-designed piece of jewelry means, “If you are someone who doesn’t want to be like everybody else. If you don’t like the box stores. If you want your personality to come out in a ring… That’s what we do.” Through the medium of the itenrnet, Hammock designs rings for people all over the world. “We’ve done this for Customers as far away as Tokyo. We are not limited by distance.”
