marijuana+drug+arrestATHENS-Special Agents with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigation’s (SBI) Narcotics Unit, in conjunction with US Postal Inspectors on Tuesday, February 2, arrested and charged Justin Houston of Athens with Trafficking of Marijuana.

“Our narcotics agents work tirelessly with local and federal partners to combat the narcotics trade in Alabama. They are a vital part of ALEA and I hope appropriators recognize their mission, and public safety as a whole, is essential and must be funded,” said Secretary of Law Enforcement Spencer Collier.

The arrest stems from an interception of ten pounds of marijuana by Postal Inspectors and intended to be delivered at Houston’s residence. Also located during the arrest was a quantity of methamphetamine. Houston is being held at the Limestone County Jail. Bond has not yet been set.

The case is still under investigation at this time.
