JASPER-Senior Trooper Johnathan Appling of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports on a traffic fatality that happened near Jasper on Monday, May 2:
“A single-vehicle crash at 7 a.m. today, May 2, has claimed the life of a Jasper woman.
Felicia Jo Anderson Haywood, 44, was killed when the 2003 Dodge Pickup she was driving left the roadway, struck several large rocks, and overturned. Haywood, who was not using a seatbelt, was transported to Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper where she was pronounced dead.
The vehicle’s juvenile passengers were both transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.
The crash occurred on Sipsey Road, near the intersection of Old Pineywoods Road, five miles east of Jasper.
Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.”
