HUNTSVILLE – The Huntsville Police Department released a statement on the shooting that took place on June 10:
“ARREST MADE IN SEMINOLE DRIVE SHOOTING
The Huntsville Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit has charged 18-year-old Jashawn Douglas with Assault 1st degree in connection to a shooting on June 10th.
On June 10th, police responded to calls of a one-car accident in the area of Seminole Drive and 7th Avenue. When they arrived they found a male inside the vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest and arm.
The victim was transported to the hospital in serious condition. Investigators believe the victim and Douglas were attempting to make a drug transaction in the area when the shooting happened.
The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.”
