Mrs. Omega Pugh Dempsey, age 95, of Jasper passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022 at her residence. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Pisgah Baptist Church with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Bro. Jeff Wiggins and Bro. Wayne Shelton will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Bell Funeral Home Sumiton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Dempsey was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She worked for many years at Alabama Power as an executive secretary and was a member of Pisgah Baptist church for many years. She volunteered at Walker Baptist Medical Center as an auxiliary for many years. She truly loved her hometown of Sipsey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Dempsey; parents Fred and Amanda Pugh; brothers, Wesley Pugh, Edward Pugh, Ocie Pugh and Jimmy Pugh; and sisters, Estelle Johnson, Gladys Laster and Ruth Odom.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Harris (and her children with Mike Harris) of Jasper; grandsons, Chris Harris (Teia) of Jasper and Patrick Harris (Jayna) of Sylacauga; great grandchildren, Canon Harris, Marly Harris, Isabella Davis, Olivia Harris and Sydney Harris; and a host of other relatives and friends.
