Olyn Lee Wray – Obituary

Olyn Lee Wray, 80, died Thursday, September 25, 2014, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born September 21, 1934, to James William and Lucy Tollison Wray. He moved to Mantachie from the Highpoint community of Winston County. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University and retired from Kerr-McGee as a statistician. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He enjoyed trading and loved talking with people.

Services will be at 11 a. m. Saturday, September 27, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Dr. John Adams and Dr. John Edward Wren officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in West Point.

Survivors include his wife, Johnnie L. Wray; two daughters, Debra Clark (Bob) of Jacksonville, Fla., and Tammy Wray of Arkansas; a step-daughter, Judy Ferguson (Ted) of Mantachie; two step-sons, Gary Smith of Mantachie and Jackie Smith of Baldwyn; three brothers, Wayne Wray (Josephine), William Earl “Red” Wray, and Joe Wray (Ruby), all of West Point; one sister, Judy Butler of Tupelo; two grandchildren, Carson Clark and Eden Clark; six step-grandchildren, Dr. John Edward “Eddie” Wren, Michael Wren, Scotty Wren, Dwayne Smith, Chris Smith, and Jay Ferguson; and several great-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, David Wray; two sisters, Erline Guest and Jewel Frances Wray; one brother, James Wray; and his parents.

Visitation will be from 9 a. m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
