With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the unexpected passing of Olivia Danielle Thompson, age 36, on May 8, 2026. Though her time with us was far too short, the joy, laughter, and love she brought into the lives of others will remain with us forever.
Olivia Danielle was truly full of life. She had a beautiful spirit, a joyful heart, and an infectious smile that could brighten any room. She had a special way of making people laugh, feel welcomed, and feel loved. Whether through her sense of humor, kind words, or simply her presence, she left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She was 2007 graduate of Sheffield High School and she then went on to earn degrees from Shoals Community College, University of Alabama in Huntsville, and Strayer University.
While we grieve this tremendous loss, we find comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her beloved mother, Yolanda “Yogi” Thompson whom she lost far too early in life, and her father, Greg Thompson, who preceded her in death more recently. Their reunion is a source of peace for all who loved her.
After the passing of her mother, Olivia Danielle was lovingly raised and cared for by her devoted grandparents, Arthur and Olivia “Tippa” Flint Thompson, and her aunt, Ramona Thompson Webster who loved and cherished her as their own child. Their unwavering love, guidance, and support helped shape the wonderful woman she became.
She also leaves to cherish her memory her brothers and sisters, Ashlee Thompson (Kansas City, MO), Dalexus Minor (Florence, AL), Ryan Cohn (Decatur, AL), Justin Jones (Muscle Shoals, AL), and Colby Thompson (Florence, AL). She is also survived by her uncles Torrence Webster (Murfreesboro, TN), Jerome Thompson (Florence, AL), Gary Thompson (Decatur, AL), Rodney Thompson (Florence, AL), and aunt Shanda Winburn (Florence, AL). She also leaves behind a devoted friend Anquinette “Annie” Abernathy, and her cherished goddaughters Kambreya and Khylie Abernathy (Russellville, AL), along with a host of great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her immensely.
Although our hearts are broken, we will forever treasure the memories, laughter, love, and light she shared with us. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
“Those we love never truly leave us. They live on in the kindness they shared, the laughter they gave, and the love they brought into our lives.”
