Oliver Neil Williams

Age 82 of Springfield, TN passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022 at his home. He was born June 25, 1940 in Hartsville, TN to Clarence Ernest & Ivorene Cleveland West Williams. He worked as a computer technician for Unisys until his retirement. Neil proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines and was a member of McFerrin Missionary Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge #700. He enjoyed attending antique car shows and driving antique cars in parades. He enjoyed camping and traveling, having driven both to Alaska and to Mexico. Neil was known all around for raising emus for 16 years following his retirement. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Lois Williams, Springfield, TN; daughters, Debbie (Veit) Spero, Bethpage, TN and Cindy (Tony) McDonald, Springfield, TN; sister, Gale (Jimmy) Bamman, Cross Plains, TN; 5 grandchildren, Frankie (Lauren) Spero, Matt (Ivy) McDonald, Ellen (Alexis) Baez, Carrie (Nate) Usher and Casey (Wayne) Summers; 10 great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Sutherland, Whit, Abner, Hoke, Johnny, Morgan, Jackson, Sully and Hattie. Funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 11am in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House. Interment will follow at 2pm in Middle Tennessee Veteran’s Cemetery with military honors. Visitation is planned for Wednesday, September 7, 2022 4-7pm and Thursday, September 8, 2022 10-11am at the funeral home.
