Ola Mae Buck, 88, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home on August 27, 2026.
Ola Mae was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Lee Buck; her father, James O. Buck; her sister, Lydia Jean (Charles)Smithand; her brother, Jerry (Jewerl) Buck; her sister, Alice Atchley; and her niece, Connie Jones.
She is survived by her beloved twin sister, Lola Kate Buck; her sister, Betty (Kenneth) Schrimsher; her sister, Doris Edwards; and an abundance of nieces & nephews, Hank, Cathy, Cindy, Gary, Kerry, Dean, Allen, Steven, Brenda, & Shannon; great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Although Ola Mae never had children of her own, she was blessed with a large family, and her nieces and nephews were very much like her own children. She loved watching them grow up, spending time with them, laughing with them, and being part of their lives.
Among those especially close to her were her great nieces Brandilyn Atchley and Natosha Click and their families. Brandilyn (Jonas), and children, Alexander (Kaylin), Isaiah, and Briella, and granddaughter Hazel Mae, shared many special moments with Ola Mae. Natosha (Justin) and children, Carter, Taylor, and Lucy, also held a very special place in her heart. These nieces and their families were much like grandchildren to Ola Mae. They visited regularly, spent countless hours with her, cared for her, and treasured the time they were able to share together.
Perhaps the greatest and most special relationship in Ola Mae’s life was the one she shared with her twin sister, Lola Kate.
Ola Mae and Lola Kate shared much more than a birthday and the same parents-they shared an entire lifetime. From childhood through their teenage years, young adulthood, and into their later years, they were side by side. They lived together, experienced life together, and were truly inseparable. Neither had children of her own, but together they were surrounded by a family who adored them.
If you saw Ola Mae, chances were Lola Kate was right beside her. Where you saw one, you saw the other.
Through the years, they could often be found dressed alike in matching outfits, laughing together, teasing and making fun of one another, and simply enjoying each other’s company. Their closeness was something special to witness. To their family, they truly were the most adorable set of twins you could ever meet.
Ola Mae brought joy and laughter to those around her. Her family will remember her not only for the life she lived, but for the love she gave, the memories she created, and the remarkable bond she shared with her twin sister for 88 years.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but the many memories, stories, laughter, and love she leaves behind will be treasured for generations to come.
Visitation will be Saturday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Sunday at 12:00 PM with Bro. Wayne Walls officiating.
Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
