Free concert Friday night, Sept. 11th, featuring music by and Injunuity held at the Florence Public Library 6 – 8pm. Bring your lawn chairs and join us at the front lawn of the library to hear these award winning artists.
FLORENCE-The Florence-Lauderdale Public Library will be hosting a concert in honor of Oka Kapassa on September 11. The concert is made possible by the Alabama State Councuil on the Arts.

Experience Native American heritage, culture, and history through the violin, guitar, and native flute of these extraordinary musicians. In case of inclement weather the event will be moved inside the library.

Indian(Paiute) and Celtic heritages – With his violin, fiddle, Native flutes and Irish whistles, Bird weaves a powerful tapestry of music and stories.
Injununity is a Native American flute-centric roots group forged in 2007 by award winning
Injunuity
composers Brad Clonch(Choctaw) and Jeff Carpenter(Chickasaw). They are recipients of two NAMMY awards in 2008/2010 and recipients of the “Flutist of the Year” at the Indian Summer Music Awards in 2011.
