LAUDERDALE COUNTY-On Saturday, September 27, 2025, the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 disturbance call in the county involving an off-duty Florence Police officer and another individual.
Evan Thornton
After an investigation on scene and talking with multiple witnesses on scene, the off-duty Florence Police Officer, identified as Evan Thornton, was arrested for Domestic Violence 3rd.
He was booked into the Lauderdale County Detention Center and had a $5,000 bond.
Mr. Thornton is presumed innocent until proven guilty. He has been placed on administrative leave.
