ATHENS-Athens has several event s scheduled throughout the month of October. A little something for everyone. From haunted houses to Zumba and a really great Fall Fest.
Athens Haunts Walks
Call Tourism to get your tickets to one of the walks. They sell out fast! This is through the month of October, and you can learn about the haunted history of Athens on a guided tour through downtown. Call 256-232-5411.

Purple and Fit: Zumba on The Square
Join the City of Athens Relay for Life Team for this fundraiser on Oct. 11 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Marion Street. It is ideal for those who love Zumba and those who are interested in learning about Zumba. Cost is $8 if you register prior to the event on EventBrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/ e/purple-and-fit-tickets- 50489312894 or registration is $10 the day of event. HealthSource will be there to offer $1 per minute massages. All proceeds benefit Relay for Life.
AHS Homecoming Parade
The Athens High School homecoming parade will be Oct. 12 at 3 p.m. There is a different route this year. The parade will start at the temporary high school on Clinton Street and go around The Square and end at Hometown and the library.
Athens Fall Fest
Several churches are collaborating to bring a fall festival on The Square with vendors, food, live music and games. This is Oct. 28 from 3-7 p.m.
Trinity Fall Festival Softball Tournament
The Lincoln-Bridgeforth Park Committee is seeking teams for its Trinity Fall Festival Softball Tournament.
The tournament will be Oct. 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the park. Churches, community organizations and especially Trinity alumni are encouraged to participate.
