NW-SCC to hold Good Roots tree planting ceremony

Image result for good roots plant treesPHIL CAMPBELL – Northwest-Shoals Community College’s (NW-SCC) Phil Campbell campus located at 2080 College Road in Phil Campbell will host a Good Roots Grant tree planting ceremony Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 12:15 p.m.
 The Good Roots Grant tree planting ceremony will feature Alabama Power Foundation representative Melinda Weaver, Representative Jamie Kiel, NW-SCC President Dr. Glenda Colagross, NW-SCC Associate Dean of Instructional Programs Dr. Timmy James, NW-SCC Assistant Dean of Student Success Dr. Crystal Reed and NW-SCC Phil Campbell Student Government President Graham Barley.
 
 The tree planting ceremony is the direct result of a $1,000 Alabama Power Foundation Good Roots grant the College received in January of 2019 to help beautify the Phil Campbell campus. The ceremony will also tie into the Alabama Clean Home initiative. Through this initiative, Alabama’s community colleges are partnering with residents and community organizations in every county of the state for this college-led effort to help beautify the state’s natural landscapes, growing infrastructure, and expanding communities.
