According to NW-SCC President, Dr. Humphrey Lee, NW-SCC is trying to do its part to keep the Shoals area voters informed for the local elections on August 23rd. “The Chamber and Northwest-Shoals try to partner every four years around this time and put something together to help educate the Shoals area voters,” said Lee. “We thought with the tremendous effect social media has on society; why not use it to educate our area citizens?”

All candidates were contacted by the Shoals Chamber of Commerce and invited to participate in the initiative. Northwest-Shoals Community College shoals chamber of commerceBroadcasting produced a seven to nine minute video on each of the candidates. The candidates were asked to take five minutes addressing relevant topics in the communities they wish to serve.

Shoals Chamber of Commerce Interim President, Barry Auchly, echoed Lee’s sentiments. “Through the use of the YouTube channels we can send someone a link to videos a citizen may like to view,” stated Auchly. “I think our area candidates and the general public will be very pleased with the unlimited possibilities this offers.”

All the videos can be watched individually on the NW-SCC YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/OfficialNWSCC), Shoals Chamber of Commerce YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/ShoalsChamber) or via links on the College’s facebook and twitter pages.
