FLORENCE-The City of Florence has issued a public announcing the official counting of the votes for the election that was held on Tuesday, August 26:
Pursuant to Ala.Code § 11-46-55, the Florence City Council will meet at 12:00
p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, in the City Council Chambers at City Hall in
the City of Florence, Alabama, to open the envelopes addressed to the City Council
which have been delivered by the returning officers to the City Clerk, canvass the
returns, and ascertain and determine the number of votes received by each candidate
in the municipal election held on August 26, 2025.
If it appears that any candidate in the election has received a majority of the votes cast for that office, the City
Council shall declare the candidate elected to the office, and a certificate of election
shall be given to the individuals by the City Council or a majority of them, which
shall entitle the individuals so certified to the possession of their respective offices
immediately upon the expiration of the terms of their predecessors as provided by
law.
