FLORENCE – North Alabama Medical Center has announced a partnership with Tennessee Valley Surgery Group, bringing its total number of current employed surgeons to six. The addition of another general surgeon this week, along with another one set to start in the fall will make North Alabama Surgery the premier surgical group in the region.

Robert Bailey, MD, FACS, Wesley Desselle, MD, FACS and Zackary Griffith, MD, FACS, are board-certified diplomats of the American Board of Surgery and will now be fully employed at NAMC. All three have acquired specialized knowledge and experience related to the diagnosis and treatment of surgical conditions, including preoperative, operative and postoperative patient care and the management of complications.

“The goal of the surgeons of TVSG has always been to provide quality, accessible surgical care to the members of the communities of the Shoals area,” said Desselle. “Partnering with North Alabama Medical Center allows us to achieve this goal in a state of the art medical center equipped latest technology and quality staff. This partnership also allows us to continue to expand services and physician recruiting so this area will have quality care for years to come.”

The trio from the former Tennessee Valley Surgery Group has joined current NAMC surgeons Dennis Fernandez, MD, (general surgery/bariatric surgery) and William Adams, MD, (general surgery). J. Wilson Mesquita, MD, (general surgery) also started on July 17th, while Kristen Reed, MD, (general surgery) is set to join the group in October.
