Norman "Archie" White Norman “Archie” White
May 28, 1948 – July 19, 2020

Archie was born in Alabama in 1948. From a very early age, he always stirred up trouble. His brothers and nephews share stories of him quite frequently as a teenager getting into messes and being rotten as ever. Later, when Archie reached high school, he decided he wanted to dedicate his time to the Army. And that he did. He served in the United States Army from 1968-1971 during the Vietnam War. Archie was the most kind, gentle, caring and warm man that his family knew him to be. Nothing made him more proud than being a veteran, a husband, a father, and Papa. Papa Archie spoiled the kids every chance he got. He also found the love of his life when he met Ann. She cared for him, and honored him until the very end. Archie was an animal lover. His little chihuahua “Princess” was the light of his life and truly brought him happiness.
Archie passed away after a battle with PTSD, and dementia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Randall and Susie White, his Brothers Robert and James White of Rogersville, Alabama. He is survived by his wife Patricia “Ann” White, his Brother David (Judy) White, His sons Greg White, Todd (Lisa) White, Jason (Tiffany) White, his step-sons, Tim (Julie) Tate, Buford (Amy) Tate, and close friend John Miller. He has several grandkids, Josh, Jake, Kylie, AJ, Jasmyn, Brittany, Jordan, Scotty, and Blake and Great Grandkids.
The visitation will be held at Rogersville Funeral Home, Rogersville, Alabama on Saturday August 1st, 2020 from 10:00-11:00am with a graveside service to begin at 11:30am at Barkley-White Cemetery. There will be a small gathering afterwards for family and friends.
Our family asks that in lieu of flowers, that any contributions be made to the Sophie Kerrigan “K9’s for Veterans” at www.sophiesanimalfund.com. This program pairs trained K9’s with veterans who suffer with PTSD. Archie was an avid animal lover and we would love to see his memory help so many others.
