Norma Standard Mann – Obituary

Norma Standard Mann, 80, loving wife and mother, passed away Oct. 25, 2012, at her home in Florence.
She was born on April 24, 1932, in Louisville, Ky., to Dr. Wallace Bernard Standard and Vera Bills Standard.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Dorothy Standard Stansbury.
After her marriage to Horace Mann, in 1955, she relocated to Florence, where she resided until her death. She enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and Canada during her daughter, Laura’s, school years and afterward to chemical meetings with her husband. She was an excellent dancer and enjoyed dining out, music, discussing politics and her cherished Dachshunds.
She leaves behind her husband of 57 years; and her daughter, Laura Mann, of Birmingham.
The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, in Resthaven Memorial Park in her beloved Louisville, Ky. Visitation will be today, Oct. 26, from 11 a.m. to noon at Spry-Williams Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the American Lung Association or to the American Cancer Society .
