Norma Lee Walters, 87, of Huntsville, passed away Wednesday. Mrs. Walters was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Raymond J. Walters, and her sister, Dorothy M. Lantz.
She was raised in Moundsville, WV, and shortly after her 16th birthday, moved to Washington, D.C. to work with the FBI. In Washington, she met her future husband, a person who was central to her throughout her life. Through his work, they were able to travel extensively throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. After her husband’s death, she moved from Huntsville, TX to Huntsville, AL. She was very active in the United Methodist Church and other social and philanthropic organizations.
Survivors include sons, Ray Walters and wife, Kris, of Concord, NH, Mike Walters and wife, Nancy of Huntsville, and Jeff Walters and wife, Janice, of Overland Park, KS; grandchildren, Andrew and Christian Walters and Amanda and Jessica Walters; and great-granddaughter, Addison Walters.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
