Mrs. Nona Mae Tompkins Pate, age 93, of Muscle Shoals, passed away April 27, 2013.
She was born Oct. 3, 1919, in Sheffield, Ala.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m.-noon Tuesday, April 30, at Colbert Memorial Chapel with funeral services to begin at noon in the chapel, graveside services to follow at Colbert Memorial Gardens.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Robert Wesley and Lemmie Azbell Tompkins. husband, William J. Pate Sr., son, William J. Pate Jr. (Pete), infant son, Benny Jack Pate, granddaughter, Amanda Jane McDonald, brothers, Bill Tompkins, Robert Tompkins Jr., Gene Tompkins and Charles Tompkins, sisters, Ruth Duke, Roberta Montgomery, Lois Mask, Nell Rose Hand Willis.
Survivors include son, George R. Pate; daughter, Mary Jane McDonald (Doug ); sister, Dorothy McGee (Jerry); sisters-in-law, Barbara Tompkins, Louise Tompkins; and daughter-in-law, Carolyn Pate; grandchildren, Jackie McMurtrey, Tina Powell (Ronnie) and Angela Counts (Thomas); great-grandchildren, Tonya Sockwell and Brandon Crittenden (Sonya); great-great-grandson, Tate Sockwell. She is also survived by a host of loving, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Mrs. Pate was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church and a born again Christian, homemaker and member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the care and love given to Nona by caregivers, Gayle Lowery and Donna Marsh. Also a special thanks to Southern Care Hospice, especially Felicia, Valerie and Dr. Loren McCoy.
