Funeral for Nolon Odis Flannagin, 100, of Town Creek will be Sunday, May 25, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Josh Horton and Brother Terry Gillespie officiating. Burial will be in Ferguson Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Flannagin, who died Thursday, May 22, 2014, at his residence, was born December 10, 1913, in Lawrence County to Everett Flannagin and Gertrude Hagood Flannagin. He retired as a plumber from Hurst and Woods Plumbing and as a farmer and cattleman. Nolon was a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Trannie Mae Terry Flannagin; his parents; one son, Wayne Flannagin; one grandson, Roger Williams; one granddaughter, Terri Bradford; one brother, Hershel Flannagin; and three sisters, Elsie Posey, Bessie Howard and Selma Terry.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Wisser and Mike of Michigan and Faye Bradford and Burrell of Hatton; two brothers, Clayton Flannagin of Killen and Billy Joe Flannagin and Opal of Florence; eight grandchildren, Jeff Flannagin and Ginger and Dexter Flannagin, all of Hatton, Vicky Oberthaler and George and Debbie Thomasma, all of Michigan, Anita Bradford of Tuscumbia, Loretta Culver and Matthew of Hatton, LaDonna Cook and Jimmy of Moulton and Nathasha Kerby (Chris) of Town Creek; 18 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons.
