Nina Lynn Nelson Smith, age 59, of Ethridge, Tennessee, died Monday, September 2, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Nina was born September 4, 1964, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Robert Padgent and Barbara Nelson. She was brought up in Lewisburg by her bonus parents, Levi and Mrs. Mamie Cochran. She loved working with her farm animals and riding horses.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her adopted father, Levi Cochran and a granddaughter, Dixie Blackwell.
She is survived by three daughters, Tara Jones of Pensacola, FL, Cherry Cheek (Scottie Blackwell) of Lewisburg, and Haley Smith of Lewisburg; one son Timothy Cheek (Heather) of Summertown, TN; adopted mother Mamie Cochran of Lewisburg; three sisters Karen Jones of Shelbyville, Pamper Cochran and Leeann Scott both of Lewisburg; one brother, Timmy Cochran of Lewisburg; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Private family graveside services will be conducted later at Short Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to London Funeral Home toward the funeral expenses.
