Nila Faye Long, 79, passed away comfortably at Shepard’s Cove on May 22, 2026. She was born on June 10, 1946, to Clifford and Velena Farmer.
Nila spent her life in Marshall County, where she was well known for her witty sense of humor, her strong faith in God, and her deep love for her family. She found joy in helping others and cherished simple pleasures like fishing, visiting Amish country, and spending time with those she loved. One of her greatest joys was cheering on her grandchildren in their many activities and events. She was especially proud to meet her first great-grandchild, even if only for a few short months.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence Long; her parents, Clifford and Velena Farmer; her sisters, Imagene Campbell, Novice Beasley, Betty Miliam, Margie Williams, and Ila Mae Farmer; and her brother, Gary Farmer.
Nila is survived by her loving children, Sherry Little (Mike) and Scott Long (Tammie). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Haley Davis (Avery), Kyle Little (Makayla), Lindsey Little (Taylor), Katie Ann Long, and Noah Long (Olivia), as well as her great-grandchild, Glenn Arthur Davis. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Nila will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and the love she shared so freely with her family and friends. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
