Nick Maitland Toney, 57, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at his residence. He was born September 18, 1968, in Heard County, Georgia, to William Leonard Toney, Sr. and Linda Jo Thrower Toney, who preceded him in death.
He was employed by GE, working in production, prior to his passing. He was a United States Navy Veteran and served on the USS Coral Sea CV-43. He served as an Operational Intelligence Analyst for 2 years and received the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon w/ 1 Star. He was released from Active Duty on September 19, 1989, with Honorable Status.
His family will have a service at a later date and interment will be in the Alabama National Cemetery.
