Harris Products Group plans investments in facilities and community

FLORENCEHarris Products Group, new owner of the former Shoals Tubular Products in Florence, is investing in the operations and the facility to make it a great place to work, company leaders said. Harris’s parent company, Lincoln Electric, acquired FTP last July, and now Harris is expanding its workforce in Florence.

 

“Make the world run better at Harris!” is the theme of a hiring event at the facility on June 15 to showcase the many ways the company’s products impact the rest of the world, in applications such as HVAC, scientific research, shipbuilding, and parts fabrication.

 

The event is from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Some positions will include on-the-spot hiring, so participants are encouraged to bring details of any prior work experience. These positions include warehouse associates, machine operators and brazers. No experience is required, as employees will be paid as they are trained.

 

For those not sure they are ready to apply for a job that day, Harris encourages people to simply attend the event to learn about the company and get a feel for the work environment.
