Nettie was truly just as kind as they come; she always had a caring heart for others. Her life of mothering and caring began with all of her siblings, even those older than her. Her life was devoted to taking care of others. Her world revolved around her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was generous, kind, and raised a wonderful loving family. She was honestly just a great lady. Nettie is dearly loved and will be deeply missed. She was a member of Halls Chapel Church of Christ.
Nettie is survived by: her daughters: Jan (Allen) Massey and Patti (Scotty) Henson: grandchildren: Devin (Sara) Massey, Dylan Massey, Brittany (Matthew Cates) Massey, Kaynon (Brittney) Henson, Kassidy (Michael) Johnson, and Deanna (Jon) Mayle; great grandchildren: Ayden Cates, Luke Massey, Peyton Mayle, Macy Mayle, and Jax Mayle; siblings: Helen (Dorris) McMullin, Gail Finerty, Freda Coats, Larry Finerty, Debbie Alley, Darlene Chapman, Lynn (Mike) Lovett, and Sandy Matthews. Nettie is preceded in death by her daughter: Barbara Lynn Gibson; brothers: James Finerty and Ricky Finerty; Brothers-in-law: Danny Michael Chapman, Bob Coats, Johnny Bearden; step-father: Pete Thomas; and nephews: Timothy Finerty and Chris Finerty.
The family will visit with friends Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A funeral service for Nettie will be held Friday May 29, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. also at Williams in Mt. Pleasant. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens, in Columbia, TN.
Pallbearers are Devin Massey, Dylan Massey, Kaynon Henson, Teddy Finerty, Matthew Cates, Michael Johnson, Luke Massey, and Ayden Cates.
