Nelson Steed Tate, age 65, of Winchester, Tennessee, passed away on February 25, 2026, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, with his loving wife by his side. Born on June 24, 1960, in Winchester, Tennessee, Nelson was the son of the late Rodney Tate and Judy McDowell Logan. Nelson dedicated 30 years of employment to Arnold Air Force Base, where he worked as an Instrument Technician. He was known for his strong work ethic, technical knowledge, and quiet dedication to his career. An avid bicyclist, Nelson enjoyed traveling to various places to cycle and explore new routes. He also found enjoyment in computer gaming, antiquing, and attending car and craft shows. He was an enthusiastic collector who took pride in his collections of knives, firearms, and ink pens. Nelson was loving, caring, and a private man who deeply valued his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Paula Brents Crosslin Tate; stepmother, Brenda Tate; and stepchildren, David Crosslin and Amber Crosslin. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 3:30 PM until 4:30 PM. The funeral service will follow at 4:30 PM, with interment to follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
