Funeral for Nelma Pauline “Polly” Poole 83, of Hartselle, will be Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church at Upshaw with The Reverend Troy Smith and The Reverend Glen Wood officiating and Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home directing . The viewing will be at the church one hour prior to service. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Poole was born in Lawrence County on July 11, 1930, to Coy Taft and Flora Aaron Stracener. She died Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Summerford Nursing Home. Mrs. Poole was a member of Friendship Baptist Church at Upshaw. She is preceded in death by her husband, John F. Poole; three brothers, John Stracener, Kenneth Stracener, and Donald Stracener; and one sister, Sue Stracener. Mrs. Poole is survived by two sons, Edward Floyd ( Alicia) Poole and Bennie Steve (Jennie) Poole; one sister, Perney (Troy) Smith; four grandchildren, Steven (Lea) Poole, Michael (Nicole) Poole, Jason (Kim) Poole, and Cynthia (Michael) Stewart; four great-grandchildren, Bradley Poole, Aiden Poole, Scarlet Poole, and Justin Stewart. Pallbearers will be Michael Poole, Steven Poole, Jason Poole, Bradley Poole, Wallace Smith, and Joe Smith.
