In Huntsville City schools, she taught at Lincoln Elementary, McDonnell Elementary, Cavalry Hill Elementary, and Morris Elementary. Before retiring, she served as the Principal of Morris Elementary School.

She was a wonderful cook and a passionate gardener.

She is survived by her three daughters, Alisa Bennett (Doug), Dana Bullard (Len), and Carol Bowen (Dale); six grandchildren.
