Nellie Mae Johnson Darby, Cypress Inn, Tennessee, was born October 28, 1931 in Waterloo, the daughter of the late Jack and Pearl Milford Johnson. She married Floyd B.L. Darby, December 2, 1950 and he died December 22, 2013. A homemaker and member of Antioch Freewill Baptist Church, Mrs. Darby departed this life, August 18, 2018 at ECM Hospital, Florence, at the age of 86 years, nine months, 21 days.
Survivors are sons, Ronald Darby (wife, Deborah) and Donald Darby (Susie Briley), all of Killen; daughter, Carolyn Sue Darby (husband, Darrell), Cypress Inn, Tenmessee; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Joe, James, Virgil and Turner Johnson and sister, Estell Carroll.
Services will be today, August 21, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with William Brewer officiating with burial in Austin Cemetery, Florence, Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Visitation will be two hours before the service. Pallbearers will be Mathew, Mark and Darrell Brewer, Lee and Shane Darby, Chris Hinton and Eric Torres.
