Nellie Mae Black – Obituary

Nellie Mae Black passed away on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, at the age of 93. Her visitation will be today from 10 a.m. until noon at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Mynot Cemetery with Baron Vander Maas officiating.

Nellie was a native of Cherokee and a member of the Mynot Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Floyd Black, and her son-in-law, Jerry Wilson.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Marlyn Wilson and Glenda Rowe (Melvin); grandchildren, Cynthia Wilson, Gigi Costlow, and Gregory McBee; great-grandchildren, David McBee, John Costlow, and AmyLynne McBee; and great-great-grandchild, Leo Costlow.

Pallbearers will be Gregory McBee, Gene Malone, Grover Malone, Jared Hunt, David McBee, and John Costlow. Honorary pallbearers will be Gregory McBee, Dwight “Buster” Malone, and R.C. Byram.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the Mynot Cemetery fund, care of Harold Overton, 4165 Maud Rd., Cherokee, AL 35616.
