Nellie Jean Ivy Wigginton, 90, died Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at her home. The oldest current member at Old Bethel Church, Jean taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years and was a prayer warrior. In her younger days, Jean was a wonderful seamstress and cook. She dearly loved her church, her husband, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 8, 1 p.m. at Old Bethel Church with Bro. Steve Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Old Bethel Cemetery. Arrangements provided by Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS.
Jean is survived by her husband of 70 years, Travis Wigginton; her children, Pam Boyd (Randy), Tim Wigginton (Debbie) and David Wigginton (Kristy); her grandchildren, Tiffany Boyd (Bob England), Richard Boyd (Katie), Ginny Salvino (Joe), and Jacob Wigginton; her great-grandchildren, Thomas and Scarlett Salvino and Caroline Boyd; her siblings, Glen Ivy (Janet), Patsy Pounders (Clyne) Sandra Stringfellow (Lee), and Sue Cochran (Richard); her sister-in-law, Peggy Ivy; her aunt, Rada Ivy; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding Jean in death were her parents, Grover Lee and Oni Lee Wigginton Ivy, and her brother, Kelly Ivy.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 8, 11-1 at Old Bethel Church, Golden, MS.
