Honoring her love of nature, a graveside funeral for Nell Cole Shelton, 86, will be today, April 17, 2016, at Pine Grove Cemetery at 2 p.m. with Rev. Scott Delashaw officiating. Visitation will be at the cemetery following the service.
Mrs Shelton, who died Saturday, April 16. 2016, at NHC Healthcare, was born Wednesday, Dec. 4, 1929, to Major Cole and Opal Cole. She was a longtime member of Pine Grove Holy Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by husband, Hollis Shelton; mother, Opal Cole; and father, Major Cole.
Survivors include sons, Don (Bobbi) Shelton and Danny Shelton; daughter, Darlene (Tim) Terrell; brothers, Frank Cole and Willie Cole; sisters, Scenia Stonecipher, Sue Brown, Janice Vandiver, Carolyn Hasha; six grandchildren, Kasey Blakenship, John Shelton, Jenna Bayne, Jordan Bayne, Joe Terrell, and Josh Terrell; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association.
